2019 . Upcycled tablecloth
This was my first sewing project. Completely new to the sewing and design process, I started with only a table cloth and inspiration. I did not draft a pattern, I did not know how to finish my hems, I did not know about different types of seams, I barely touched my iron, and I could barely sew in a straight line. Even with a complete beginner's knowledge, I (literally) pieced together the structure for this top by cross-referencing free sewing patterns I found online. I did no practice runs or sampling, and there are many flaws in this top. But it showcases my determination and pure learning process. I know now to conduct further research, and that thorough sampling will actually save time and materials in the end.
